Picture reveal is a classic MFL classroom game where a picture is hidden then gradually revealed a piece at a time. Teams or individuals compete by attempting to name the picture before it is completely exposed.Picture reveal is one of 10 FREE whole class games to teach English at iclanguage.com.
In our Picture reveal a picture is revealed a piece at a time, with a point being deducted from the score each time - when a team can name or describe it in the target language, the picture is revealed to check their guess. If the class decides the language is acceptable, the team can award themselves the points remaining. Scoring the points is manual. The language (speech and text) for a picture is available by clicking on the question mark once the picture is fully revealed.
The more pieces of a picture that are revealed, the fewer the points that will be scored for that picture.
Teams can take it in turns to play on the same picture, or teams can play a picture per team, revealing pieces until they can guess the identity of that picture.
After 10 or 20 pictures respectively, the pictures will come up in the same order again.
It is possible to change the order of the pictures by restarting the game.
Select the topic you would like to use by clicking the 'Change topic' button.

You can choose to show all the pictures in a topic or to show / teach only the first 5 / 10 initially and the second 5 / 10 at a later stage.
